ZIMSEC Announces Examination Fees... In United States Dollars

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has announced the examination fees for the 2022 Grade Six, Grade Seven, Ordinary Level and Advanced Level candidates.

The Government will subside examination fees by 55% for candidates in Public schools, Local Authority schools and not for profit Mission Schools.

All candidates in private schools and colleges, including private candidates in public schools, will pay the full cost of the examination fees. ZIMSEC said in a statement:

The 2022 examination fees are pegged against the USD. However, parents and guardians are advised to pay the fees at the prevailing interbank rate, as of 22 July 2022, which will be communicated by ZIMSEC to all centres.

Payments in USD are not to be made or accepted by school/centre heads. Parents and Guardians must make payments at their respective centres during the period 22 July to 29 July 2022.

Below is a table of the approved 2022 Examination registration fees:

Examination Level USD Portion Paid by Candidates (Public schools, local authority and not for profit Mission schools) Payable ONLY in ZWL at interbank rate as at 22 July 2022 USD Portion Paid by Government (Subsidy) USD Total Fees (Private school, college and private candidates) Payable ONLY in ZWL at interbank rate as at 22 July 2022

ZIMSEC urged parents and/or guardians as well as candidates to take heed of the registration period of 22 July to 29 July 2022 and the closing dates that will be given to them by their respective school or centre to avoid inconveniences. ZIMSEC said:

No payments should be made directly into the ZIMSEC account by Parents/ Guardians, centres are requested not to allow individual candidates to make their own deposits into the ZIMSEC Account.

There will be no late registration for November 2022 examinations.

There's no subsidy to talk about. Do not hoodwink us. That money is all that's needed per subject. You need to pretend as if you're helping parents. Cheap propaganda
