Zimbabwe Weather Report & Forecast: 13 To 15 April 2022

The weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Services Department in conjunction with the Department of Civil Protection at 4 PM on Wednesday 13 April 2022 valid until Friday 115 April 2022.

PREAMBLE

Remnant moisture over the northern areas resulted in isolated thundershowers in parts of Harare Metropolitan, Mashonaland Central, Midlands and northern parts of Manicaland Provinces.

Meanwhile, a cloud band is drifting from Botswana into the western areas of the country through all Matabeleland Provinces.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW THURSDAY 14 APRIL 2022

Brief cloudy and warm conditions with isolated thundershowers are anticipated in all Matabeleland Provinces, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands, all Mashonaland Provinces, Harare Metropolitan and northern parts of Manicaland Province.

Mostly sunny and warm conditions are expected over Masvingo and southern parts of Manicaland Provinces. It should be mild both morning and evening throughout the country.

  • Lighting may still strike from a distant cloud, even when the sky overhead is clear.
  • Diverse weather conditions are expected; plan your day with the weather for your area in mind.
  • Temperature fluctuations may have adverse effects on the body: please consult a certified health practitioner if you feel any notable discomfort.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

  • When thunder roars, it is best to be indoors; if outdoors, seek shelter immediately, but do not hide under trees or isolated sheds as these are prone to lightning strikes.
  • Do not ride in the back of a truck or drive a tractor during a thunderstorm.
  • Keep hydrated, especially during the daytime by drinking adequate amounts of water.
  • Dress appropriately for the anticipated conditions.
  • Where possible fire-guards should now be constructed.

  • Kariba: Sunny and warm (Temperatures – 23/33)
  • Great Zimbabwe: Sunny and warm (Temperatures – 16/31)
  • Nyanga: Isolated thunderstorms (Temperatures – 13/28)
  • Vumba: Sunny and warm (Temperatures – 15/28)
  • Matopos: Sunny and warm (Temperatures – 16/30)
  • Chimanimani: Isolated thunderstorms and warm (Temperatures – 16/29)

WEATHER FORECAST FRIDAY 15 APRIL 2022

Both Matabeleland Provinces, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands, all Mashonaland Provinces, Harare Metropolitan and northern parts of Manicaland Province should experience brief cloudy and warm conditions with isolated thundershowers.

Mostly sunny and warm conditions are expected over Masvingo and southern parts of Manicaland Provinces.

It is expected to be mild both morning and evening throughout the country.
