ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON THURSDAY 04 NOVEMBER VALID UNTIL SATURDAY 06 NOVEMBER 2021.

PREAMBLE

Scattered thundershowers accompanied by violent winds were reported mainly along the main watershed.

Gokwe recorded the highest rainfall with 40mm followed by Matopos with 29mm, Zvishavane with 21mm and Gweru with 19mm.

Temperatures remained in the hot to very hot category with Kariba reporting a maximum of 43 Degrees Celcius.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW FRIDAY 05 NOVEMBER 2021. ALL AREA FORECAST:

It should be mostly sunny with slight chances of isolated afternoon thunderstorms which may be accompanied by violent winds especially along the main watershed. Temperatures are expected to remain high during the day.

IMPACT

  • Lightning is a major risk during this period
  • Strong winds (inherent in most thunderstorms) may be destructive in places
  • Hot daytime conditions may lead to dehydration
  • Mosquitoes proliferate during this season.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

  • Stay indoors during thunderstorms. If outdoors do not shelter under isolated trees or shed.
  • If no shelter is available try to couch as lots as possible with only your toes touching the ground.
  • Keep hydrated during the day by drinking adequate amounts of water.
  • Avoid staying in the sun between 11.00 and 15.00 hours when it is hottest.
  • Wear a sunhat when engaged in outdoor activities if possible.
  • Persons in Malaria prone areas should take necessary precautions (insecticides spraying. applying mosquito repellents. sleeping under mosquito nets).
  • When thunder roars, go indoors.
  • COVID is still a potential threat. stay safe. mask-up. get vaccinated.

  • Victoria Falls: Partly cloudy with a chance of thundershowers (Temperatures – 23/38)
  • Kariba: Partly cloudy with a chance of thundershowers (Temperatures – 27/39)
  • Great Zimbabwe: Partly cloudy with a chance of thundershowers (Temperatures – 19/34)
  • Nyanga: Partly cloudy with a chance of thundershowers – 15/30)
  • Vumba: Partly cloudy with a chance of thundershowers (Temperatures – 17/31)
  • Matopos: Partly cloudy with a chance of thundershowers (Temperatures – 16/30)
  • Chimanimani: Partly cloudy with a chance of thundershowers (Temperatures – 15/30)

WEATHER FORECAST FOR SATURDAY 06 NOVEMBER 2021

It should be mostly sunny though afternoon outbreaks of thundershowers can not be ruled out especially in high areas.

Hot to very hot conditions are also expected especially in low lying areas, that is, the Zambezi, Limpopo and Save valleys.

I cant trust any weather news from the zim met department. I don't know how that rusty and deteriorated equipment at Belvedere can record anything.
