Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast: 31 July - 02 August 2022

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has released a weather report and forecast for the period 31 July – 02 August 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:

PREAMBLE

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON SUNDAY 31 JULY 2022 VALID UNTIL TUESDAY 02 AUGUST 2022.

There were clear skies and calm winds over much of the country with slight ground frost in areas such as Bulawayo, Chipinge, Gweru, Harare, Henderson, Kezi, Kwekwe, Marondera, Masvingo, Matopos, Mhondoro, Plumtree and West Nicholson. Meanwhile, relatively cool and moist south-easterly winds from the south-eastern coast of Southern Africa have begun to strengthen.

FORECASTS FOR TOMORROW, MONDAY 01 AUGUST 2022

It should be windy and cool over Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, southern districts of the Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland Provinces with cloudy conditions progressively drilling through Beitbridge, Chiredzi, Mwenezi, Chipinge, Gwanda, Mberengwa, Zaka, Bikita and Masvingo districts. Light drizzle is probable in places. All other areas, namely Matabeleland North, northern parts of the Midlands, Harare Metropolitan, and all Mashonaland Provinces, are anticipated to be mostly sunny and mild by day though cold both morning and evening. Ground frost remains probable in areas such as Ken, Matopos, Gweru, IIenderson, Nyanga and Mukandi.

• Cold conditions may affect the body’s health, with common colds, influenza, and fever, as well as asthma, being common.

• Poultry producers should note that broilers are sensitive to temperature variations

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• Dress appropriately to keep warm especially overnight, and ensure vulnerable members of society are wann as well.

• When braziers are in use, please ensure the room is well ventilated.

• Poultry producers should check temperature levels regularly and adjustments made to reduce bird mortality and increase productivity.

• Field crops that may be affected by rain need to be stored in a dry place.

• Drive cautiously, especially when visibility has been diminished by fog/ or cloud-induced darkness.

Windy, cold and cloudy morning conditions, coupled with light rain drizzle, are anticipated in Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, southern districts of the Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland Provinces becoming less cloudy as the day progresses. All other areas are expected to be mostly sunny and mild by day becoming cold towards evening, with a light breeze time and again.
