Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast 22-24 April 2023

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has issued a Weather Report and Forecast which covers the period 22 -24 April 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:

PREAMBLE:

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON FRIDAY 22 APRIL 2022 VALID UNTIL SUNDAY 24 APRIL 2022.

Isolated thunderstorms occurred in Midlands, Masvingo and Matabeleland North. The highest rainfall amounts were 58mm (Kwekwe), 50mm (Gweru), 39mm (Shurugwi, Parkinson Secondary School), 34mm (Harare South, Maringwe Secondary School), 29mm (Kadoma, NRZ), 24mm (West Nicholson) 21mm (Kadoma) and 21mm (Masvingo). Meanwhile, the atmosphere is becoming less moist and a generally north-easterly airflow is prevailing over much of the country.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, SATURDAY 23 APRIL 2022

Briefly cloudy and warm afternoon conditions are anticipated over parts of Matabeleland North, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands, Harare Metropolitan and all Mashonaland Provinces, with light rain showers which may be thundery in places. Mostly sunny, humid and warm conditions are expected over the south of Matabeleland South, Manicaland, and Masvingo Provinces.

It should be cool both morning and night over much of the country

• Lightning may still strike for a distant cloud, even when the sky overhead is clear.

• Hot and humid conditions may affect vulnerable members of society

• Temperature fluctuations between night and day may affect the body’s health, asthma and other respiratory-related illnesses being common. • When thunder roars, it is best to be indoors. If outdoors please find shelter immediately; do not shelter under trees or in isolated shed. Do not ride at the back of an open truck or a tractor.

• Do not cross rivers or streams of unknown depths even if no heavy rains have occurred in your area, they may have occurred upstream.

• Keep well hydrated especially when partaking in outdoor activities, where possible wear a sun hat or carry an umbrella

The whole country is expected to be mostly clear skies with cool conditions in the morning becoming warm to very hot as the day progresses. Brief cloudy periods and a chance of light afternoon showers remain probable in some areas (especially over Matabeleland South Province).
