Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast: 16 - 18 November 2022

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has forecasted sunny conditions in most parts of the country. In a weather report and forecast seen by Pindula News, MSD said it should be hot across the country. Reads a report and forecast for the period 11 to 13 November 2022:

PREAMBLE

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON WEDNESDAY 16 NOVEMBER 2022 VALID UNTIL FRIDAY 18 NOVEMBER 2022.

Brief cloudy periods were experienced in the northeastern parts of the country. with Manicaland, Mashonaland Central and Harare Metropolitan Province experiencing light showers. Notable, It was cool in the morning but became hot in the afternoon. Other parts of the country were mostly sunny and hot as the atmosphere becomes less moist.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, THURSDAY 17 NOVEMBER 2022

Mild conditions are expected in the early morning hours becoming hot by noon with scattered clouds in all Mashonaland Provinces, Harare Metropolitan and Manicaland. All other areas should be mostly sunny and hot in the afternoon becoming mild towards evening.

• Hot daytime conditions can affect the health of vulnerable members of society and all other persons if exposure to direct sunlight is for an extended period of time.

• Evapotranspiration tends to increase during periods with less rainfall and cloud cover. this increases moisture stress on young plants and tender shoots.

• Lightning can strike even when clouds are distant and it is seemingly under blue skies, this is a scientific phenomenon called lightning from the blue.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• When outdoors. on the farm or perforating other outdoor activities for extended periods of time please wear a sunhat or be under an umbrella to protect against direct sunlight.

• Keep hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water.

• Please monitor soil moisture and moisture stress in young tender plants and irrigate where possible.

• Even when lightning is seen in a distance, it might not be safe to be outdoors. The rough rule of noting the safe gone when you see lightning is the 30-30 Rule: If you see lightning and cannot count up to 30 seconds before you hear thunder. then you are not safe from the next lightning strike.

• Where possible, install lightning conductors on buildings.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR FRIDAY 18 NOVEMBER 2022

Mild conditions are expected in both morning and evening hours. Mostly sunny conditions and hot daytime conditions throughout the country. However, towards the evening it should become windy over Masvingo Province and Matabeleland South Province with scattered clouds drifting into Beitbridge and Chiredzi districts.
