Here is the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 28 December 2021:
• 2 099 New Cases (All local) and 32 Deaths reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases goes down to 1 397 from 1 481(yesterday) 8 of the 18 deaths reported by Harare occurred from 24 Dec to 27 Dec 2021 and were not reported.
• Vaccination Update: 1 855 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 106 875, 2 048 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 115 197 while 50 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 3 993.
• As of 27 December 2021, @1500hrs there were 303 hospitalised cases: New Admissions (44), Asymptomatic 57, mild to moderate 189, severe 54 and 3 in Intensive Care Units.
• 7 672 tests done today (Positivity today was 27.4 %)
• 3 246 new recoveries: National Recovery rate falls to 82% & Active cases go down 32 645.
• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 205 449 Cases 166 717 recoveries & 908 Deaths.
- Two-thousand and ninety-nine (2099) cases tested positive for COVID-19 today.
- As of 27 December 2021 at 1500hrs, hospitalised cases were 303, of these admissions, Asymptomatic 57, mild to moderate 189, severe 24 and 3 were in Intensive Care Units, New Admissions (44).
- Today we regret to report 20 facility and 12 community deaths as shown in the table below.
- Today, 6062 AG and 6010 PCR tests were conducted. The Cumulative number of tests is 1 821 743 (111 010 RDT, 968 239 Ag, and 742 464 PCR).

- Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak on 20 March 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 207 548, recovered 169 963, active cases 32 645 and 4940 Deaths.
