Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 27 March 2022

Zimbabwe first recorded Coronavirus cases in March 2020. Since then, thousands of people have been diagnosed with respiratory disease, thousands have died and also thousands have recovered. Pindula News presents an update issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 27 March 2022:

53 New Cases (All local) and 1 Death reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases falls to 186 from 188 (yesterday). 5 of the new cases reported today are from outbreaks detected from schools in Mash Cent. (5).

• Vaccination Update: 31 905 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 914 255, 5 801 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 490 701 while 15 605 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3 rd. dose to 264 378.

• Today we are happy to report that 31 905 people county-wide received their 1st Dose bringing the cumulative doses to 4 714 255.

• As of 26 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (27) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (3), Asymptomatic (4), mild to moderate (23), severe (0) and (0) in Intensive Care Units. 8 of the 27 hospitalized were vaccinated and 19 were not vaccinated.

• 960 tests done today (Positivity today was 6.1%).

182 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 96% & Active cases go down 3 541.

• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 245 820 Cases 236 841 recoveries & 5 438 Deaths.

5438 deaths in 2 years....I don't think covid is worth the hype, just treat it as an ordinary disease - no need for reporting covid cases everyday...its fatality rate is way below other diseases

Plus nobody is wearing masks anymore except in Zim, the intended impact of a mask is minimal
