Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 20 March 2022

Zimbabwe first recorded Coronavirus cases in March 2020. Since then, thousands of people have been diagnosed with respiratory disease, thousands have died and also thousands have recovered. Pindula News presents an update issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 20 March 2022:

• 67 New Cases (All local) and 1 Death reported today. (7-day rolling overage* for new cases falls to 286 from 299 (yesterday).
• Vaccination Update: 924 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 415 064, 887 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 441 731 while 1 104 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 178 137.

• As of 19 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (49) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (3), Asymptomatic (2), mild to moderate (42), severe (5) and (0) in Intensive Care Units. 12 of the 57 hospitalized were vaccinated and 37 were not vaccinated.
• 1 692 tests done today (Positivity today was 4.1%)

• 277 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 96% & Active cases go down 4 545.
