Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 17 April 2022

Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 17 April 2022:

  • 17 New Cases (All local) and 1 Death were reported today. (7-day rolling average for new cases rises to 44 from 43 (yesterday).
  • Vaccination Update: 5 224 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 5 789 301, 1 294 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 614 353 while 1 551 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 565 626.
  • As of 16 April 2022, @1500hrs there were (14) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (0) Asymptomatic (2), mild to moderate (9), severe (3) and (0) in Intensive Care Units. 3 of the 14 hospitalized were vaccinated and 11 were not vaccinated.
  • 1 571 tests were done today (Positivity today was 1.1%).
  • 89 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 97% & Active cases fall to 803.
  • As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 247 278 Cases 241 012 recoveries & 5 463 Deaths.
