Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 16 April 2022

Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 16 April 2022:

  • 24 New Cases (All local) and 0 Deaths were reported today. (7-day rolling average for new cases falls to 43 from 45/yesterday).
  • Vaccination Update: 12 085 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 5 784 077, 748 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 613 059 while 500 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 564 075.
  • As of 15 April 2022, @1500hrs there were (12) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (1), Asymptomatic (2), mild to moderate (10), severe (0) and (0) in Intensive Care Units. 5 of the 12 hospitalized were vaccinated and 7 were not vaccinated.
  • 1 306 tests done today (Positivity today was (2.1%)
  • 63 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 97% & Active cases fall to 876.
  • As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 247 261 Cases 240 923 recoveries & 5 462 Deaths.
