Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 09 May 2022

Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 09 May 2022 noted that some schools recorded new Coronavirus Cases. Pindula News presents the update:

184 New Cases (All local) and 3 Deaths reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases rises to 86 from 63 (yesterday) 45 of 184 cases reported are from outbreaks detected from schools in Mat North (25) and Mat South(20).

• Vaccination Update: 6 485 received the 1st dose toddy bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 5 924 932, 2 163 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 868 126 while 4 866 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3 rd dose to 647 049.

• As of 09 May 2022, @1500hrs there were (32) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (5), Asymptomatic (2), mild to moderate (22), severe (2) and (6) In Intensive Care Units. 17 of the 32 hospitalized were vaccinated and IS were not vaccinated.

• 3 110 tests done today (Positivity today was 6.1 %)

33new recoveries: National Recovery Rate remains at 98% & Active cases rise to 939.

• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 248 536 Cases, 242 118recoveries & 5 479 Deaths.
