Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 08 April 2022

Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 08 April 2022:

  • 55 New Cases (All local) and 2 Deaths were reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases falls to 73 from 83 (yesterday).
  • Vaccination Update: 37 215 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 5 661 914, 4 992 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 582 951 while 12 193 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 518 618.
  • As of 07 April 2022, @1500hrs there were (19) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (7), Asymptomatic (0), mild to moderate (18), severe (0) and (1) in Intensive Care Units. 7 of the 19 hospitalized were vaccinated and 12 were not vaccinated.
  • 2 554 tests were done today (Positivity today was 2.2%)
  • 605 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 97% & Active cases go down 1 279.
  • As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 246 925 Cases 240 189 recoveries & 5 457 Deaths.
