ZERA Announces New Fuel Prices Effective 02 August

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has reviewed the prices of diesel and petrol with effect from 02 August 2022.

The new price of diesel is US$1.74 and ZWL$774.15 per litre while the price of petrol is now US$1.60 and ZWL$710.60.

ZERA said the blending ratio remains at E20. It added that operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations.

Previously, the price of diesel was US$1.76 and ZWL$727.69 per litre while the price of petrol was US$1.61 and ZWL$667.43.

Remember petrol was once being bought at around 1.80 just a few weeks ago.If it continues decreasing like this very soon we will be back to the usual price of around 1.15

Token reduction which in effect is an increase because they have increased the ethanol content.

Like the warning signs on tobacco products, they should put warning signs at fuel stations to the effect that SUGAR IN FUEL IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR CAR ENGINE
