Woman Robbed And Dumped After Boarding A Taxi
An unnamed woman was robbed and dumped in Harare after boarding a taxi at Trek Service Station, Graniteside intending to go to Marimba Shopping Centre
A police report seen by Pindula News says the woman claims that she lost consciousness along the way and regained it only to discover that she had been dumped in Epworth. Reads the statement:
Police in Harare are investigating a robbery case which occurred on 13/12/22 where a woman (35) was robbed various school uniforms, 30 satchels, ten plastic dishes and US$190 cash after she had hired a taxi at Trek Service Station, Graniteside intending to go to Marimba Shopping Centre. Along the way, the complainant felt dizzy and became unconscious. She later regained consciousness and discovered that she had been dumped near Domboramwari Shops, Epworth.

In some cases, the vehicles would have been stolen to be used in committing crimes.

Cases of this nature ballooned during the peak of COVID-19 when public transport was scarce. Commuters were forced to board private cars exposing themselves to robbers.
