Winners And Losers Should Accept Election Results - ED

ZANU PF President and First Secretary, Emmerson Mnangagwa has said winners and losers should accept the results of the forthcoming provincial elections which will be held next week.

Mnangagwa made the remarks while addressing a ZANU PF Politburo meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Harare this Tuesday. He said:

Successful and unsuccessful candidates are urged to accept results and quickly avail themselves for deployment into serving the party, its members and the nation as a whole.

The party election and mobilisation teams alongside the relevant departments are directed to strictly comply with the laid out rules and procedures that govern the conduct of our elections.

ZANU PF meetings across the country have been characterised by violence ahead of the internal polls.

For instance, ZANU PF Senator for Manicaland Province, and the party’s provincial vice-chairperson, Dorothy Mabika was ambushed in Chimanimani West by suspected party members on Saturday.

ZANU PF Manicaland provincial chairperson Mike Madiro, who is also the Deputy Home Affairs Minister was also attacked by suspected ZANU PF members a few weeks ago.

In Mashonaland West, Home Affairs minister Kazembe Kazembe and Lands Water and Agriculture deputy minister Douglas Karoro came close to exchanging blows during a ZANU PF inter-district meeting at Mahuwe Growth Point in Mbire
