The synchronisation of Hwange units 7 and 8 to the grid is expected to add a cumulative 600MW. Electricity generation has been depressed for months resulting in massive unscheduled power cuts across the country. On Friday, 17 March 2023, Kariba power station was generating 241MW, Hwange, 315MW, and Harare, 11MW, giving a total of 567MW. ZESA is importing 100MW from Zambia’s ZESCO, 50MW from HCB Mozambique of Mozambique, and 100MW from Eskom of South Africa. Zimbabwe needs between 1 500 MW and 1 700MW of electricity for load shedding to end. More: Pindula News _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
