The suicide at ZRP High is the fourth reported incident of school-going teenage suicides in the country in March. Earlier this month, 14-year-old Rumbidzai Chimusasa committed suicide in a school toilet at St Mary’s Secondary School in Chikanga, Mutare after she had just been reprimanded for her wayward behaviour by her grandmother. Last week, 15-year-old Jayden Saudan, a Form Three pupil at Hamilton High School, committed suicide after drinking poison. On Sunday, a Form One learner at a private school in Luveve suburb, Pauline Moyo, committed suicide by hanging.
