The magistrate remanded the duo in custody to 29 April after advising them to apply for bail at the High Court. Prosecutor George Manokore told the court that police received a tip-off that the suspects were planning to commit armed robbery at 5 Overlaw Farm in Kadoma. Manokore further alleged that on 14 April, police detectives followed the two men as they drove in a white Nissan Hardbody along Samora Machel Avenue. When they realised that they were being tracked, Vengai allegedly drove at high speed on the Bulawayo highway leading to a high-speed chase. It is alleged that the Munangagwa brothers were arrested at a roadblock in Norton. Police detectives searched their vehicle and found an AK47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition. Police also recovered a Tokarev pistol hidden between a mattress and the base of a bed during a search of Tawanda’s home at 21 Retreat Farm in Waterfalls on 15 April. Tawanda allegedly told police the pistol belonged to Vengai. Prosecutors say both men did not have licences for the firearms. Vengai and Tawanda are said to be the sons of one of President Mnangagwa’s brothers and the “u” in their surname is a misspelling that was made by officials at the Civil Registry Department. *More: ZimLive* _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
