In a statement, seen by Pindula News, police said: > The ZRP reports that on 27/03/22, 1 646 people were arrested for violating COVID-19 related offences. The cumulative number of arrests since 30/03/20 stands at 1 613 796. Coronavirus cases in the country have been going down in recent weeks. Authorities continue to warn members of the public against complacency saying that will likely trigger another wave of the coronavirus. The police also reported that 96 people were arrested on operation ‘No to Machete Gangs’, bringing the cumulative arrests to 13 752 since 1 January 2022. Meanwhile, 512 people were arrested on operation ‘No to Cross Border Crimes’ bringing the cumulative number of arrests since the 1st of January this year to 132 206.
