*Grace Mugabe Strikes Lucrative Deal With ZIMSEC*

Former first lady Grace Mugabe is set to pocket a substantial amount from the Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) after the examinations body hired her elite private school to accommodate examiners marking the 2022 Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations.

ZIMSEC has another deal with the Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA)-owned Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) in Bindura.

Traditionally, ZIMSEC uses publicly funded educational institutions, such as the Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) which it shunned in favour of ZEGU.

Speaking in an interview with New Zimbabwe on Monday, ZIMSEC public relations manager, Nicky Dhlamini Moyo confirmed the developments but said there was nothing wrong with the deals. She said:

_We occasionally use private Universities and entities that offer requisite facilities. It would be good to note that in Mashonaland Central marking was at ZEGU, a private church-owned university and at Amai Mugabe school._

_Our criteria for venue selection is uniform for all institutions. We do not isolate institutions based on them being private or state-owned._

_As an examinations council, we look for availability, facilities, and affordability amongst other imperative things._
