Harare City Council has announced that it will be shutting down its two major waterworks, Morton Jaffray and Warren Control Pump station from the 3rd to the 5th of December to allow repairs to be made. Pindula News presents the local government’s statement:

*PUBLIC NOTICE: SHUTDOWN OF MORTON JAFFRAY AND WARREN CONTROL WATERWORKS.*

_Please be advised that there shall be a shutdown of Morton Jaffray and Warren Control Waterworks on Friday 3 to Sunday 5 December 2021 to allow for works to be carried out at Warren Control Pump Station and on the new line that will supply Hopley._

_The works are expected to improve the mechanical performance of the newly installed pumps at Warren Control and also allow Hopley to start accessing water._

_The shutdown will enable the department to undertake repair works at 3 points on trunk mains to reduce physical water losses currently obtaining in the system._

_Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly during this period._
