Tungamirai, who is the son of late national hero and former Air Force of Zimbabwe Air Marshal Josiah Tungamirai, assaulted Hutepasi accusing him of denigrating him on social media, including a party WhatsApp group. The MP used vulgar language towards Hutepasi and dragged him away from the crowd and closer to his vehicle where he punched him using a clenched fist once on the mouth. Hutepasi later told NewZimbabwe.com he spat blood following the assault by Tungamirai. He said: > I sustained a cut inside my mouth which was oozing out blood, l was spitting blood. I am shocked why he beat me up. This is dishonourable conduct by an MP. He added that senior party leaders counselled him against making a police report. The violence reportedly happened in front of two Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) intelligence officers. Reports claim that Tungamirai was recently assigned by the party to verify grassroots structures in Zvimba South, where he reportedly observed that some listed members who are in Hutepasi’s faction were not bona fide. This did not go down well with Hutepasi who took to social media to allege that Tungamirai was working with Zvimba district coordinating committee (DCC) chairman, Bywell Mbirimi to decimate their camp. Mashonaland West grassroots structures were in disarray, a development that forced the postponement of internal elections to choose district leaders. District members constitute the Electoral College to choose provincial committee members, including the chairperson. *More: NewZimbabwe.com* _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
