WhatsApp: 0️⃣7️⃣8️⃣3️⃣ 4️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ 7️⃣9️⃣3️⃣ ---------- Moisture drifted into the country overnight from northern parts of Mozambique resulted in scattered clouds in parts of all Mashonaland Provinces and Harare Metropolitan Province. However, cold conditions were experienced early this morning with slight ground frost reported at Plumtree, Gweru, Henderson, Marondera and Nyanga. Meanwhile, pressures are beginning to rise slowly over the south coast of South Africa. FORECAST FORECAST FOR TOMORROW FRIDAY 18 JUNE 2021: It should be cold in the morning with clear skies countrywide. Slight ground frost still probable in frost-prone areas. However, it is expected to be cloudy, windy and cool towards late afternoon in Manicaland, Masvingo, southern parts of Midlands and Matabeleland South Province. The rest of the country should be mostly sunny and mild though cold in the morning. IMPACTS Cold conditions in the early hours of the morning have negative impacts on poultry and some crops. Low temperatures may affect the health of all persons, however, persons of an ill disposition, the elderly and young children tend to be more vulnerable. ACTIONS TO TAKE Ensure that vulnerable members of society are kept warm, especially overnight. Avoid brazier or open fire to keep warm, in an unventilated room to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Farmers are urged to seek advice from Agritex officers on ways to mitigate the effects of ground frost on livestock and crops (especially horticultural produce) during these cold periods. COVID is still a potential threat, stay safe, mask up, get vaccinated. OUTLOOK WEATHER FORECAST FOR THURSDAY 10 JUNE 2021 Sunny and mild conditions will dominate much of the country, though cold in the morning. Areas susceptible to ground frost will experience slight to moderate ground frost (Chivhu, Gweru, Henderson, Marondera, Matopos, Mukandi and Nyanga).
