Chamisa believes the ruling ZANU PF party has been using State institutions to decimate his party since he challenged Mnangagwa’s victory in 2018. He took the challenge to the Constitutional Court where the matter was dismissed with costs. A few hours after the country was put under its first coronavirus-induced lockdown in March 2020, the Supreme Court ruled that Chamisa was not the legitimate leader of the MDC-T.
