The six activists who were acquitted of all charges are demanding US$300,000. The activists were arrested on arrival at Robert Gabriel Mugabe Airport after attending a civil society workshop in the Maldives. The US$50 000 is broken down as follows; US$15,000 for wrongful arrest, $5 000 general damages for pain, shock and suffering, US$10 000 for malicious prosecution, US$5 000 for loss of income, US$5,000 for travel, accommodation, subsistence and legal expenses.
