The Ministry also reported that 280 patients were hospitalised. Of those hospitalised, the condition of 179 was mild to moderate; 81 were in Severe while 20 were in intensive care Units. Zimbabwe now hs a total of 30 523 cases since March last year when the first case was recorded. On 22 January, Manicaland recorded 105 new coronavirus cases, the highest number of the day. Meanwhile, Harare remains the hardest hit province followed by Bulawayo. Zimbabwe is experiencing a resurgence of the coronavirus pandemic with authorities suggesting it is likely being worsened by the emergency of a new aggressive strain that was first detected in South Africa.
