*Council Announces Morton Jaffray & Warren Control Waterworks Shutdown*

Harare residents could be without water over the weekend after the Harare City Council (HCC) announced a shutdown at Morton Jaffray and Warren Control Waterworks from Friday to Sunday for the installation of new pumps.

In a public notice, HCC said a successful installation of the new pumps and other maintenance works will reduce water losses that are currently being experienced. The statement read:

_The Harare City Council would like to notify residents and stakeholders that there will be a shutdown at Morton Jaffray and Warren Control Waterworks scheduled from 4 pm on Friday 18 December up to 4 pm Sunday 20 December 2020. The shutdown is to enable our contractors to install new water pumps._

_The department will also be taking advantage of this critical shutdown to undertake other critical outstanding maintenance works._

_The successful completion of these works will reduce physical water losses currently obtaining in the system._

_We urge you to use available water sparingly during this period._
