WhatsApp: 0️⃣7️⃣8️⃣3️⃣ 4️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ 7️⃣9️⃣3️⃣ ---------- Mwonzora said he fell out with Chamisa because the latter was keen on bringing the G40 into the opposition party. Mwonzora said: > I haven’t talked to Chamisa in a while but I did send a message to him after the death of his mother that I was sorry. > The issue between myself and Chamisa was never personal, it was on the issue of principles. > I do not agree that we must bring G40 into MDC and that is one of the main issues – the overbearing presence of the G40. The G40 was said to be a group of Zanu PF politicians working on generational change by replacing the party’s older officials with younger and savvy party members. The faction was reportedly against President Emmerson Mnangagwa taking over from the late Robert Mugabe, which escalated fights between them and the Lacoste faction. The main G40 functionaries are now scattered abroad following a military coup in 2017 which resulted in Mugabe’s ouster and Mnangagwa’s elevation to the helm of ZANU PF. *More: The Zimbabwe Mail* _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
