ARTUZ said: > A lot of parents with kids at Biriviri High School in Chimanimani are calling our office. They are complaining that teachers are demanding USD10 per month from parents. > We urge teachers to desist from this illegal conduct and confront duty bearers who have the mandate to pay salaries. Some reports claim that in Masvingo, School Development Associations (SDAs) at some schools have taken the initiative to deal with teachers’ incapacitation by paying each teacher US$10 per term. An SDA chairman of a leading mission school who declined to be named told Masvingo Mirror that the US$10 will be paid when schools reopen and the figure will be reviewed later. Teachers have refused to return to work until the government restores their salaries to the pre-October 2018 levels when they earned between US$520-US$550. They are currently earning roughly US$40 per month. _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
