*Entire Class At A Bulawayo School In Self Isolation After Student Tested Positive For COVID-19* https://www.pindula.co.zw/2020/10/20/entire-class-at-a-bulawayo-school-in-self-isolation-after-student-tested-positive-for-covid-19/?article A form 4 student at an unnamed school in Bulawayo tested positive for COVID-19 which forced authorities to order all the student’s classmates to self isolate in a bid to try and curb spreading the virus, the Chronicle reports. The COVID-19 case was confirmed by the school authorities that the student indeed tested positive for COVID-19. School authorities told the publication that: _We are pleased to note that the pupil is at home and doing fine. She was tested at one of the public hospitals in Bulawayo and was advised to isolate. Staff members and other learners who were in contact with the learner were tested and so far, we have not encountered any further Covid-19 related challenges at the school. Members of the public should note that the pupil did not contract the disease from the school because so far there is only one case which means it could have emanated from the community,_ Dr Mlilo assured parents in Bulawayo that they were making sure that schools remain safe for their children despite one leaners testing positive for COVID-19: _We continue to ensure that this school and the rest of schools in the city follow WHO guidelines so that pupils and teachers are protected. We still encourage members of the public to exercise caution, wash hands, wear masks and practice social distancing all the time_ Schools opened their doors to writing classes on 28 September 2020, the next batch of learners is expected to go to school next week on Monday and the remaining students on 9 November.
