Meanwhile, Sikhala responded through his lawyer Mr Harrison Nkomo, saying he will apply for refusal of further remand if the State fails to set the matter for trial on the day in question. The Zengeza West legislator was arrested in August and charged with inciting public violence after he had urged citizens to participate in foiled anti-government protests that had been scheduled for the 31st of July. The protests were being organised by Jacob Ngarivhume of Transform Zimbabwe following the exposure of grand corruption by senior government officials. Sikhala is not new to the courts after he was earlier exonerated of charges relating to subverting a constitutionally established government.
