The Zimbabwean government has allowed churches to continue holding their services under the more restrictive lockdown regulations.

Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Ndavaningi Nick Mangwana said worshippers can hold service but should observe several health guidelines. He said:

_For the avoidance of doubt, churches can hold services under the following conditions;_

_They should disinfect the premises before and after each service._

_They should have facilities to wash hands or sanitise hands_

_Temperature checks_

_Everyone is masked_

_Physically distanced sitting_

According to The Herald, on Saturday last week police dispersed more than 5 000 members of the Johane Marange Apostolic Church who had gathered on the outskirts of Masvingo for their annual Passover ceremony.
