Mpilo Hospital CEO Dr Solwayo Ngwenya while speaking to the Chronicle took ht time to remember his roots and he said he never thought one day he would be a celebrated obstetrician.

Dr Ngwenya who is a medical doctor besides being the hospital CEO is also:

A Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Science and Technology (NUST)
An entrepreneur who runs his own institution, which he built from scratch Royal Women’s Hospital
A fellow at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK

Dr Nywenya was appointed acting CEO of the Hospital during the government’s public hospitals’ restructuring exercise.
