Waiving of water-shedding in the affected area; II. Risk communication and community engagement; III. Waiver of user fees for cases fitting the Gastro-Intestinal disease case definition; IV. Distribution of oral rehydration salts and placing neighbouring health facilities on high alert; V. Conducting house-to-house surveys to actively find more diarrhoea cases; VI. Collecting water samples for analysis; and VII. Following up on community deaths with Luveve Police Station. Sunday news reports that preliminary tests conducted by experts engaged by the Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association (BPRA) suggest that the local government authority – BCC, could be at fault in the Luveve Water contamination. Over 1500 people, including 13 deaths, have reportedly been affected by the disease believed to be Typhoid and or Dysentry.
