The escapees had returned from South Africa, one of the most hit African countries, and were yet to be tested for the virus, local media reported. ---------- *HOT DEALS:* *itel A70 - (128GB, 3GB RAM) $89,* *itel A70 - (256GB, 4GB RAM) $99* *itel P40 (128GB, 4GB), (6000mAh) $99* *itel P40 (64GB, 4G), (6000mAh) $93* Cash on Delivery in Harare & Bulawayo. The escape was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health who said the authorities had launched a manhunt. A day before the escape, it had been reported that eight people who tested positive for the virus on arrival from South Africa had escaped from Kameza isolation centre in Blantyre. These reports are not peculiar to Malawi as Zimbabwe has also reported that more than a hundred returnees had escaped from quarantine centres. Also of major concern is that there are some border jumpers who just returned from abroad who are not willing to go through the vetting system due to some misconceptions about the testing and quarantine process. This is concerning considering that most of Zimbabwe’s coronavirus cases are returnees who came back recently.
