Zimbabwe’s first lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa has urged churches to remember survivors of Cyclone Idai who are in needs of many basic commodities including shelter.

Mrs Mnangagwa made the remarks when attended a church service held at the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) in Harare this Friday. She said:

_In a few days, we will be marking the first anniversary of that disaster the effects of which the government is still in co-operation with various international organisations to address. To the PHD family, try to spare a thought for the people of Chipinge and Chiamanimani who are still living in tents as permanent homes are still to be reconstructed._

Next week marks a year after the tropical cyclone claimed many lives, destroyed homes, properties and schools as well as crops in Manicaland, the province in the Eastern part of Zimbabwe.
