*Indian Doctors' Mission Assist 2 000 Zimbabweans For Free*

21 specialist Indian surgeons who visited Zimbabwe under the Zim-India Medical Mission (Vocational Training Team), last week have been applauded by people who were successfully operated on for free.

The free surgeries were conducted at Mutare Provincial Hospital and St Joseph’s Mission Hospital, with Sekuru Jackson Muhone (78) of Sakubva, who had been suffering from prostate cancer, being one of the beneficiaries. He said:

_I had no money for medication. I had no means to raise funds for surgery. I had lost hope. This is a miracle._

_I am extremely grateful. I lost friends and relatives to this condition. They could not get medical recourse because they could not afford it._

_My fear was that I was going to die. The lump was so painful and I could not do anything about it. This mission has rescued me._

Meanwhile, over 700 patients suffering from different ailments had been assisted by Tuesday.

A further 1 300 patients were expected to be assisted by Friday when the mission was scheduled to end at Mutare Provincial Hospital and St Joseph’s Mission Hospital.
