When garbage becomes the epicentre of a regime, then the citizen is right to conclude that the garbage regime and its garbage policies must be shipped out as a matter of urgency!! President Mnangagwa last year declared the first Friday of each calendar month, the National Environment Cleaning Day in an endeavour to ensure that the country has sustainable environment management and waste disposal systems. The opposition MDC has been critical of the initiative since its inception until only recently when Chamisa urged party members to also participate in the event. Some observers have been saying that the initiative is not sustainable and was highlighting poor service delivery by local government authorities who are supposed to be collecting garbage on a regular basis.
