*Zim Government Sets New Target: "100 000 Houses Per Year” To Curb Accommodation Challenges* https://www.pindula.co.zw/2020/01/28/zim-government-new-target-100-000-houses-per-year-to-curb-accommodation-challenges/?article The government of Zimbabwe has said that it is targeting to build 100 000 houses every year to minimise accommodation shortages. The government intends to partner with private businesses who have the requisite financial resources. The government’s “ambitious” initiative was revealed by Minister Daniel Garwe while touring Mabvazuva Housing Scheme under Goromonzi Rural District Council, Housing and Social Amenities. He said: _They (Exodus and Company) are basically developing land which we availed to them, providing on-site and off-site infrastructure, roads, water and sewer reticulation…_ _The target that we were given by Government is 100 000 per year, but because of other challenges, if we achieve between 20 000 to 30 000 per year we would have done well._ This is however not the first time the government has pledged to build houses. In 2014, then Minister of Local government, Ignatius Chombo announced that the government would build “313 368 housing units across the country in the next 38 months.” ---------- *Latest itel A70* - now available on Pindula 128GB storage, 8GB RAM *$89 Cash on Delivery.* _We deliver in Harare and Bulawayo everyday between 9am and 4pm_ also available on Zero Deposit to Civil Servants and Pensioners.
