The National Prosecuting Authority has filed an application seeking to amend bail conditions for Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s estranged wife, Mary Chiwenga-Mubaiwa.

This comes after VP has been adamant that Marry cannot reside with him at their Borrowdale home even when Marry’s bail conditions ordered her to do so. Chiwenga argued that he is a state witness hence they cannot mix.

Speaking to News Day yesterday, VP Chiwenga’s lawyer, Wilson Manase of Manase and Manase Legal Practitioners, said:

> There are bail conditions which preclude her from interfering with witnesses, so she cannot do so and the National Prosecuting Authority has already filed an application to amend the bail order of Justice (Pisirayi) Kwenda to that effect to make sure that the two cannot mix.

> Mind you, there is an attempted murder charge in which the accused (Marry) is said to have interfered with the life of the Vice-President…

These remarks were made soon after the hearing of the matter in chambers where Justice Christopher Dube-Banda reserved judgment following submissions from both parties.

Chiwenga and Marry have been locked in a legal battle following Marry’s arrest by ZACC for alleged externalisation of funds, attempted murder and fraud.
