Progressive Teachers Union, through its secretary-general Raymond Majongwe has said the government’s interference in the running of public schools imposing school fees caps etc has negatively affected the public education standards, Newsday reports.

Majongwe said the government interference was a silent assassination of public schools in favour of private schools:
