Lovemore Madhuku of the National Constitutional Alliance (NCA) said President Emmerson Mnangagwa had agreed to have the proposed constitutional changes debated by POLAD before being gazetted and taken to Parliament, but this did not happen. We are dealing with Zanu PF, which is in the old mode and we expected that. > You must know that Zanu PF is not used to the culture of getting advice. But we are not pulling out of Polad because it’s the only platform that we have, because we don’t have representatives in Parliament. Cabinet has already gazetted the controversial Constitutional Amendment Bill, with Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi reminding POLAD members that the negotiating platform is not an arm of the government, therefore, did not deserve to be consulted.
