ZCC secretary-general Reverend Kenneth Mtata warned that when the cries of the vulnerable are not addressed, it creates a recipe for a revolution. ZCC has been at the forefront in calling for dialogue between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and opposition leader Nelson Chamisa, at one point even calling for the suspension of elections for seven years to allow the country to heal. Mnangagwa first became the President of Zimbabwe in November 2017 following a coup which ousted longtime leader, Robert Mugabe.
