Last night I was involved in a car accident near St Lukes turn-off (close to Lupane. By God’s grace, I escaped with minor injuries. It could have been worse. > I was driving from Bulawayo to Hwange when I saw a herd of cattle crossing the road in the darkness of the night. Instead of driving straight into the herd, I swerved off the road. My truck ended up stuck up on a dry and sandy small riverbed. The ruck is badly damaged, but the engine remained intact. Meanwhile, the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe has been urging drivers to be extra-vigilant on the roads since some, if not most, of the accidents, are caused by human error. Posting on Facebook, the council said: > Don’t phone, text, and drive. IT CAN WAIT! Some of the accidents have also been caused by the poor state of the roads.
