The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority has announced that it is taking measures that are premised at improving its services to the public.

This was revealed by Zimra board vice-chairperson, Mrs Josephine Matambo who said that the plans to acquire a new tax revenue management system was already underway. She said:

> The authority is thus making a drive to review, simplify and improve process efficiencies across the whole organisation. This will be achieved through a ‘Business Process Re-engineering Project’, which will cut across all Zimra’s internal business processes and systems,”.

The remarks come when ZIMRA recently revealed that it had surpassed its $6 billion target.

There have been elongated queues at border posts a sign that the clearance system currently in place was overwhelmed.

There have also been concerns over the porous nature of the country’s borders.
