MDC president Nelson Chamisa has received a proposal from the Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations (ZHOCD).

This was revealed by the party’s Deputy National Spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka. He said:

The church leaders on Monday issued a statement calling for the suspension of elections in Zimbabwe for a period of seven years.

The bishops argued that the Sabbath rest will allow the country to reset its politics and chart a shared way forward towards a comprehensive economic recovery path in a non-competitive political environment.
