The patients faced serious problems and their lives were in jeopardy. > We had to do quite extraordinary contingency measures to contain the situation and to safeguard the patient’s lives by ensuring that they access essential services as we were now facing a total collapse. The measures we put really worked, we roped in the use of senior members of staff, student nurses, student midwives and personnel from the Zimbabwe National Army. The disappearance of Dr Magombeyi caused chaos in health institutions as doctors and nurses downed tools demanding for his return. Magombeyi went missing of Saturday 14 September in Budiriro and was found in Nyabira, near Inkomo Army Barracks, about 35 kilometres north-west of Harare where his alleged abductors reportedly dumped him. Observers said that the State had kidnapped him whilst authorities are saying that its either there is a third force behind the disappearances or the alleged abductions were being stage-managed. Magombeyi who is admitted at a local hospital is yet to narrate what really transpired.
