Shiri added that the 66-year-old Mavhunga was a brave man who partook in the liberation struggle and also in the land reform programme. He added: > On Friday, we lost Cde Mavhunga who was a war veteran. We were together in the liberation struggle. Another politburo member, Senate President, Mabel Chinomona said that Mavhunga’s struggle with kidney ailment should be a wakeup call for the government to make available health care facilities for people who liberated this country. Chinomona added that war veterans deserved special treatment. Mavhunga joined the liberation struggle in 1975.
