The least-paid civil servant will get $1 023 per month. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Child Care on Wednesday confirmed that health workers were paid their increment, backdated to last month. In a statement, the Ministry said: > Government availed resources for the implementation of the agreed Cost of Living Adjustment. > The Ministry of Health and Child Care confirms that health workers have been paid COLA through the normal salary disbursement channels today (yesterday), the 4th of September 2019. Doctors and teachers, however, rejected the salary adjustment demanding to be paid the equivalent of previous USD salaries at the prevailing interbank rate. Teachers insist on being paid at least US$400.00 converted to the local currency. Doctors embarked a strike on Tuesday this week citing incapacitation. *More: The Herald* _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
